To put it simply, to position a city is to identify all the resources available to it, to find its personality, its soul and its beliefs following the principles of uniqueness, exclusiveness and authoritativeness. For example, Hangzhou in East China positions itself as The Paradise on Earth, The Happiest Place in China. A city without personality is a place lack of advantages in competition; a city without soul is a city without contents; a city without its own beliefs is a city without a future. The more eminent the personality of a city is, the wider its influence and the larger its potential of growth is.
