The Age of Wealth and Knowledge

is entering the age of Wealth and Knowledge
Adam Smith, father of the classic economics is well known for his
remark that land is the mother and labor is the father of wealth. But today, we
want to interpret his words in our own language that wealth is the mother
and knowledge is the father of productivity. The term of knowledge age is yet not adequate for today's China, where three folds of civilizations coexist. We'd rather coin
a new term: wealth and knowledge age, to give a closer description of our nation. This is not a society dominated by knowledge economy, nor a society dominated by wealth and served by knowledge
as the capitalist western world used to be in the age of
industrialization. This is a place where wealth and knowledge are playing in
tandem. Wealth can be used to pursue knowledge, while knowledge can be employed to pursue
wealth. This is a special transitory
age. We call it a time of wealth and knowledge. |
