How
to formulate a workable strategy?
To formulate a workable strategy, three questions must be answered. First, how do you diagnose the leadership of the firm? The nature and style of the executives are pre-determinants of the outcomes of corporate strategy. The leader is the personalization of a firm and a firm is the materialization of the personality of its leader. Only when the leaders of the firm fully understand and agree upon the strategy proposed, can its implementation be successful. Second, how do you diagnose the firm? Where does this firm come into being? What state is it in?
Where will it go? The origination of a firm usually determines the ways it
does business. Only when we know where it is from, we can design a path for it to go. Third, how do you make an inventory of resources available? Resources available to a firm include both those visible and invisible, tangible and intangible. None of these resources should be overlooked. |
